I need help understanding what might be the common symptoms of a cracked fan blade.

You take the vibration spectrum & notice whether there is any peak at working RPM * no of vanes.
Cracked vane will give high frequency vibration & which will match with rpm X no of vales. Generally it will be in radial direction. roytk@sify.com |
