Hello All;
Can someone tell me the size of the orfice of a viscometer and how it works? Is there more than one size or does one size fit all when checking the viscosity of oils. Thanks for your assistance. Good day, |

There are different sizes for different viscosity ranges. We use three different sizes in our visocometer. I do not know the internal diameter to the orifice.
Our viscometer used gravity to measure how long it takes the oil to get from point A to point B. A simple formula is used to turn the time it takes to go from point A to B into viscosity. That is the test in a nut shell. There is quite a bit more to the testing process but, I won't bore you with the details. |
