I have an oil sample from a steam turbine with low water, low contamination (by ferrography testing) but a highly counting particle. What sort of problem shell we have?

dry the sample and run again the particle count test, some instrument detect air bubles and water as particles.

varnish is a common problem in turbine oils. Will show as nonmetallic particles in APC. See this forum for lots of information on it.
