I would like to get advices/ideas on how to set up a commercial oil analysis lab. The only instruments we have to begin is ferrography instruments. We have to outsource the other tests required by the clients.

hey,

get yourself an XRF,

i posted on one of the other questions about a panalytical Axios we have.we actually use it for just that oil analysis at commercial level.

we use it everyday and are running samples over and over..

you could go a cheaper unit, they have benchtops but your number of samples per day is lower.

if your going to set up you are better setting up with quality to start with and you will be much happier..

and dont be worried about the set up, they came out and set everything up for us..

we run it everyday, its far better than an ICP, we have no waiting time for sample prep, we just pour the sample into the sample cup and measure it.

definitly go for an XRF, try this website www.panalytical.com

cheers mate
