thak you,
the report we receive is below.
I think that the report do not show realy the oil condition, and the comment is function of the oil contamination.

Satisfactory for continued service.

Viscosity 40 C cSt 115
Closed Flash Point C 200+
Total Insolubles % 0.2
Total Base Number 10.9
Water Content % <0.20
Sodium ppm 1
Copper ppm 3
Lead ppm N.D.
Tin ppm N.D.
Aluminium ppm 4
Silver ppm N.D.
Iron ppm 6
Molybdenum ppm 1
Chromium ppm N.D.

Though the various parameters are well within specification limits,a low flash point, presence of sodium and a water content of 0.2% are indicative of problems assiciated with engine.

Generally the physico chemical parameters shows the condition of the engine oil and wear metal analysis shows the condition of the engine.

To get an more compete conclution you need to know a lot more parameters like oil type, hrs engine, hrs oil and more.

Overall it looks to have low wear element content. Be aware that analysis is most likely done by ICP or RDE meaning maximum particle size analysed is 6-8 µm. If you have had recent engine problems you should check oil filters for larger wear debries.

the concentration of Sodium is low, it could be a problem in the procedure of taking the sample? or the proper storage of the sample containers?

regards
