I maintenance 600 MW steam turbin, for controling turbine valve we use EHC system, we use Fyrquel oil, after 5 month change the oil, TAN tend to increase as a result some servo valve leaked
- what is the factor that affected in increasing TAN ? - can we decrease TAN during operation ? - another paramerter such as water content, kin. viscosity, chlorida, colour is in normal condition - flapper of servo valve made of bronze, and it broke that causing servovalve leak? any relation betwen bronze material with acid ? |

Dear Rollysla
If you are having increasing in the TAN value, you don't need to change the fluid. You can use technology for treatment of the fluid. Review in www.cleanoil.com. You should analyse the presence of Ca, Na, Al and other metals to. Maybe, you have Fuller Earth Elements in yours system. This kind of filters geners this metals, that causes deposits in the valves.
