  • By-pass filtration
  • Separators
  • finer system filter
  • Electrostatic filtration

I would go for no. 1

Vinay,

Completly agree with Mr. Hughes. Offline filtration not only is a very efficient way to separate contaminants, it also give you other benefits like go to deep filtration without compromise lubricant flow to the system (compresor), change filters with the compresor in operation, continue filtration process even after compresor shutdown, and something for the managment in the long run is cheaper than online filters.

We installed bypass fiters on our flooded rotary screw compressors. These filters reduced contamination 2-3 ISO codes from what we observed prior to putting them on. This was a fairly low cost option as the filter we selected uses pressure differential in the compressor lube system to provide flow so it works whenever the unit runs and there was no pump to wire in.
