I´d like to know if is there any correlation between ferrography and particle counting and between ferrography and spectroscopy?

I would say - slim or none. Although, level of one can trigger another test to be performed. For example, if one noticed sudden or a continuous sharp increase in particle counts and/or the concentration of metals in ICP spectroscopy analysis, than the next test should be ferrography, due to shortcomings of the ICP spectroscopy (detects only present particles of up to 10 microns in size). However, only with ferrography analysis one can determine type of wear occurring in a machine.

ICP particle measuring capability is only up to 4 or 5 microns.RDE can measure up 10 microns and when using Rotrode Filter Spectroscopy it can measure up to 65~70 microns.

LaserNet Fines is an automatic wear particle classifier specifically designed for used oils, that will automatically clasify all particles greater than 20 microns into their different wear modes(fatigue, severe sliding, fibers, non-metallic, cutting) without the need of doing a time consuming and subjective analysis with ferrography and under 3 minutes. At the same time this Direct Imaging technology will provide report particle counting, soot content and approx water content (free water - water dropplets greater than 20 microns)
I have seen papers showing correlation of particle counting with spectrsocopy and ferrography
