 What is Boron used for in a 15w40 CJ-4 engine oil. My anylisis I use said it is an additive. Hell, I knew that but what is it for. Can anyone help me? |

answer I left in other forum:
Friction midifier and a mild AW additive used when ZDDP is reduced to still give valve train protection. Not a dispersant. Moly is also used aswell as other additives. Boron and moly are the most common used in delo I think. bruce |
