what is ultra centrifugation test in the oil analysis.

Hi Neeta,
the ultracentrifuge test is for varnish potential. Oil samples are subjected to high G forces. I use this test to verify the operation of our Electrostatic filter units.

Dave,

this is a vry dangerous, although widly used practice. The ultra centrafuge can only extract material which has a higher specific gravity than the fluid it self. many studies usuggest that varnishing material may be the sam or lower density than the oil. this is why we see bath tub rings of brown or black material in systems experiening varnish. Please be carefull.
