Does somebody heard about the possibility of installing a filter of 1 micron on heavy equipment engines and as a result to extend the life of the oil to more than 1000 hr. I met a magician that promised me a miracle

Well it's not a miracle. There are numerous 1 micron and lower bypass filtration systems that do work. The only thing you need to do is keep a eye on the used oil analysis. I have seen many engines that can go well over 1,000 hours on a oil change, some don't even have bypass filtration systems.

Dan,

One company that has records of doing this in many situations is Filmax. I repeat micbail's caution of the increased need for attention to oil analysis, and finding a lab which will return the sample analysis to you quickly. Also if the original change interval was 600 hours, plan to change the bypass filters at that interval. The top-up and the fresh filter will allways help. write to sales@filmaxinc.com for details.
