Dear Colleagues,
Could you tell me please name and probably links to full text of methods of soot determination in used oils preferrably by paper-blot (spot) test or other chip and valuable tests. Spot test of determination of soot are qualitative only or quantitative? Also could you tell me most important and valuable tests (and equipment) in used oils analysis? Regards, Marat (didicoi_2004@mail.ru) |

Wilks infracal soot meter at www.wilksir.com/sootchek.htm is a small bench top instrument that has lots of data behind it and gives quanitative answers - compares well with TGA and FTIR methods
Blot test would contact Herguth labs at www.herguth.com/ believe they have blot tests that indicate level of oil oxidation and soot -qualitative |
