Hi.
I've a question related to the acceptableand rejection TAN limits/values for Servo Torque 10(supplied by Indian Oil)which is a transmission oil used in a hydraulic coupling in one of our equipments. Looking forward for an early reply in this regard. With best regards. |

You need to find out the new oil TAN value, and go from there. Basically an increase of 1 is max limit (in most cases). If you cant find the new oil TAN value in the technical documentation with the oil, just send in a new oil sample to the lab.

Dear Sir,
Thanks.W'll it is Ok, but for setting a base line for transmission oil is it Ok setting the normal limit <3 for alert >4. Because on testing a fresh oil we get a value 1.8. Kindly let me know whether I can go forward by setting these limits. With regards.

I think you should then have TAN 3 as maximum allowed. If you reach TAN 4 on a TAN 1,8 oil you have a very high increase.
<3 Normal >3 abnormal |
