Sorry to those of you who ask for some information about our paint shaker and degassing a sample.

We bought our Tornado II from http://www.woodufinish.com. They are very common on the web. We have made adaptors for our different size sample containers. The machine will not hold a one gallon container.

Stevis, We have a vacuum chamber we use to degas the sample. It was salvaged from and old Met one particle counter. We first stared using a sample bottle cap that we adapted and hooked up to a vacuum pump. The problem with that was the adapter would get contaminated with the oil due to the bubbles popping against the lid. Degas time depends on the viscosity of the sample. We run the vacuum pump until the sample is free of air bubbles, anywhere from 2-5 minutes.

Send me your e-mail and I will send pictures of both set ups.
