Hi
ACEA has a warning connected to their low SAPS oils with spesification C1,C2,C3 and C4,
"These oils may be unsuitable for som engines".

Why is this, and what can happen if used in an engine not specified for low SAPS.

best regards
ranur

Low SAPS oils are for pollution protection gadgets such as Particulate filters,Catalyst converters beacuse High Sulfated Ash (SA) and phospherous (P) will reduce the life of pariculate filters/Catlyst. At the same time it is not advisable to use LOW SAPS oil in engines that are not filtted with gadgets like the above because they require high SAPS oil for efficient lubrication. I understand that it is a tough situation for oil companies marketing and also end users; but to protect environment we require these kind of oils.
