hi there...
i have some question about transformer oil smpling procedure. Does anyone know transformer oil sampling is to be performed when the transformer is energized, or when it is de-energized? Any effect on the sample? Thanks!  |

The Transformer Maintenance Guide put out by TMI says, never sample Current Transformers (CT's)energized and extreme caution should be taken when sampling energized transfomers. Based upon that, I would think the analysis would be the same (energized/unenergized) only the risk for the indiviual would be greater.
