I have asked a question to several so called professionals regarding exactly what additive suspends soot in diesel engine oil. Is it VI improvers Cacium etc etc etc ? Who has the right answer?
Curious to see how many different answers we see on here. Eugene Reeves |

quote: It is dispersant which is responsible for suspension of soots in diesel as well as gasoline engine oils. They are not a pure chemical; complex cemical molecule synthesized out of polybutenes. Viscosity Improvers are not responsible for this action; however VIs can ge grafted with dispersants, are called dispersant viscosity improvers. Again dispersant in the VIs are responsible for soot suspension Kumar e mail : kumartr2@yahoo.com |
