What would cause a grease with a PAO base oil and calcium sulfonate thickener to become like play dough after a few months in service?
Application is a pulp dryer where bearing housing temp is 190 to 200F and roll speed is <100 rpm.

Have you sent a sample of it out and had a analysis done on it yet?

Could it be contamination of pulp getting into the bearings?

What grease are you using and what NGLI rating?

Hi POS,

Go for Polyurea base grease with refined mineral oil.
