I am not sure of a source close to your location. Perhaps a call/email to one of the Noria associates could offer a source.

I know of a source in the US that can provide the analysis you want. Contact Bill Herguth or Dennis Kelly at Herguth Laboratories for the details. Look up their site at http://www.herguth.com.
Good Luck.

Hi,

What is bearing corrosion?Higher TBN additive has any role in it?Somebody told me that high alkalinity can corrode the bearings. An engine oil (API CI4) with a TBN of 12 mgKOH/gm,can it corrode the bearings.Expecting your valuable views.

Mitchell,
I know you may not want to go to a bearing supplier, but I would not totally count them out. SKF Reliability Systems is a good source for root cause bearing failure analysis. Joe Conyers can do the analysis or provide other information. His e-mail is joe.b.conyers@skf.com. Also, I have used J V Poplawski, who is a PE that specializes in bearing failure anaylsis. The company is located in Bethlehem, PA but they travel all over. Their phone number is 610-758-9601 and their e-mail is info@bearingspecialists.com You can view their website at http://www.bearingspecialists.com. I hope this helps.
