Good day,
Locally our current supplier doesn't have API TC engine oil and he's telling us that we could try TC-W or TC-W3 oils type.

The lubricant datasheet doesn't specify if this oil (TCW3) can be used in motorcycles.
What could happen if we use TC-W or TC-W3 oils to lubricate motorcycle engines ??

Thanks for your prompt reply

Xavier

Hi there

I am not sure, dont take my word for it, however I believe TC-W3 is an environmental rating. I believe (and I could well be wrong) that it is a poor performing 2 stroke lubricant, and as such you may be better off looking for the appropriate classification.

i read in a short discussion that low ash oils (API TC) could affect in engines requiring ashless oils (API TCW-3) (e.g.deposits) . is this correct ??
I heard from our sales people that clients away of the cities are using TCW-3 when there isn't available API TC oils. And they aren´t reporting any issues.

I hope more information could be provided

Xavier,

TC W3 is not a certification of API, but is cretification of two stroke marine engine oil by NMMA (National Marine MAnufacturers Association)

If you are looking for a better two Stroke Oil for your two wheeler, go for "JASO FC" that exceeds the performance requirement of API TC
