Sm oil in a diesel?

My boss is cheap. Real cheap. I have been bugging him to change the oil in the Onan generator that powers his motorhome when he goes camping.

So he finds Castrol on sale and bought 4 qts of 10w-30 and proceded to change the oil using the Castrol SM oil.

I'm trying to get him to change it out for a diesel rated oil but he wants to run whats in it for now.

What kind of problems is he looking forward to now?

Well, it really depends on the charateristics of the oil. It could well be it also has an diesel approval.

If it's a Magnatex or Symtec or GTX 10W-30, these all have also a CF approval.

But it happens also the other way around. Most Harley Davidsons require a diesel spec oil while running on petrol.
