Hi All,

The synthetic motor oil Shell Helix Diesel SAE 5w-40 after running 9,500 km in Toyota Hi-Lux has appearance as bitumen - dark, thick. It becomes covered crust at heating. Engine was crashed of course. What's up with oil? What reasons for such change? Any thoughts?

You might want to look back through this section for threads dealing with oil sludge problems with Toyota engines. You might have a claim for a new engine.
