For all interested Chevron tech responded to my query and this is what they say about the HTHS of Delo,
Typical HTHS for Chevron Delo Multigrade SAE 15W-40 will be 4.4 cP (@ 150C) Looks like an even match with Delvac Super. |

Another intertesting information regarding Chevron DELO 400 is that it is being upgraded for superior performance. Hope that should keep engines running much better. |

Only sad aspect is that in India, their marketing strategy is among the least aggresive and they are hardly conerned with ads, also they have no OEM base and that makes getting this wonderful oil quite difficult. In case of Chandigarh, Delo 400 has to be special ordered and the price is significantly higher than Delvac MX.

DELO 400 is priced higher than DELVAC MX since it is a oil meeting API CI -4 performance level whereas Delvac MX is API CH4 performance level oil. DELO 400 ,as you are aware uses improved base oils and hence manufactured at specific locations. I hope you understand. |

quote: Franky, One correction if I may, Delvac MX is CI-4 as per the label on the container. I bought around 20 liters last month and it says CI-4. |
