Did you speak with Dave? Their oils are not 100% POE. They do have some PAO in them. About 25%. The difference is they use far greater amount of POE then Amsoil and Mobil. Both of these oils are 85% PAO where as RL is 65% POE and rest PAO. Dave Graquist told me this. It's also in BITOG. Having an all PAO or POE is not desirable.

TallPaul, if you want a comment on the life of an engine with RL, I have an 84 Civic at just over 375k on RL. The head has not been off, and the valve train looks like it was assembled yesterday. I check the valves every 30k miles and almost never have to adjust any. I know other oil might do the same and this is an experiment in one, but at least RL works in daily drivers just fine. And one final thought, the most important part of making a cheap car last is where you live, and for me it's San Diego.

I've used most of their fluids.
Since cost is an issue, I'll stick with Mobil1 or RotellaT from wallyworld.
But, because of a certain autoparts store discounting the Redline out of inventory, I was able to grab a bunch of various Redline oils.
I've have been using the Redline motor oil as an "additive" in 3 vehicles so far which are using a 1 quart dose with Mobil1, RotellaT, or Castrol synthetic oils. One is getting better gas mileage. One makes less noise. The other just runs smoother. Its gotta be the moly or POE! Redline--the best motor oil additive:-)

Yeah, I got 12 quarts Redline oil at Advance Auto for $5.98 each and then got $1 rebate each. Going to run it in my lawnmower and generator as well as for an additive in my trucks, and may run a full load sometime in one vehicle.

6 dollars for redline is cheap. I used it, good stuff. I am now on amsoil 0-30 series 2000, look it up on the net, u might like it

Has anyone ever seen the results of a Lead corrosion bench test for that formula ? Copper for that matter .

I would like to see a Pb corrosion test as well. The formulator on BITOG claims RL is cutting edge and well aware of what their oils can do. I've learned recently, and it should be of no surprise, that most of RL's reputation and business comes from their Racing Oils, not street. In fact even the road racing teams like RealTime racing use RL 30wt racing oil. Maybe their street oils just don't have it.?? I've always wanted to like RL bc I think their marketing and oils are excellent in many ways, but when looking at the data on BITOG, it just pushes me away from it. At least RL doesn't choke the internet like Amswaysoil.
