I had heard that the new 15k mile Mobil would not be an API oil . I just saw a bottle of the 10w-30 and it's API SL/CF ACEA A5/B5 with the donut .

One will not void his/her warranty with this oil if following the owners manual to a T .

It was the same price as the other 5 quart jugs . Single quart were 50 cents more than the old Supersyn .

ACEA A5/B5 is a challenging specification for an engine oil. The ACEA B5 TDI piston cleanliness test is rather severe.

Thanks for the post . I have not seen the parameters for VW piston cleanliness testing .

I have noticed the non Extended Performance regular Mobil 5w-30 SS does not meet A5/B5 anylonger . The 10w-30 still does .

The mineral oil guys change sometimes their formulation and keep the marketing strategy and vice versa - you never know what they really do.
