What is the reason Antimony would effect the product Mobil DTE 25 in a Circulating Oil System?
Make/model of unit is a Schielle/Turbofan. Maintainence Department has high concerns with SB(antimony)found in the Used Oil Analysis.

Antimony if found in some types of ASTM B23 type babbitted bearings the % is very low so the presence of it in the oil should lead one to suspect a high level of wear is taking place. However if this is the case there would be a very high level of lead along with a ratio of ~1/10 the level of tin.
The maintenance dept is rightfully concerned if they have found antimony in the oil. However I would suspect that their concern is over the equipment and not the oil. They might want to change the oil and resample afterwards to try to get a feel for how quickly the condition is getting worse.
Might I suggest asking them to explain their concerns to you. Most mtce guys are OK people...... yea you caught me there.....

Alan (mtce guy)

There may be some gear oil in the make up of this oil. Some gear oils use antimony in the additive package.
