Hi macabf
This not rocket science, all this is, is a way of getting the grease to travel as an oil so it can be processed, typically a weighed portion of grease is liquidated/diluted with a measured amount of hydrocarbon solvent and sent through the ICP, most labs will do this if requested, the ratio of dilution is then applied/multiplied against the ICP results and that will give a reasonable idea of what is occurring,
We think best analysis for grease is microscope and if abnormalities found then track the contaminates if not obvious with the ICP, more info on this off our web site, add .com.au to our user name.
Hope this assists

Regards
