I am trying to implement a color-coded system to stop the injection of the wrong grease, protect the bearings from voluntary contamination & to assist in training new lubrication personnel. I have found one supplier for grease caps. These caps attach to the zerk with a retainer at the base of the fitting.
The problem I have found, these are plastic caps and are not compatible in "High Temperature Environments & High Corrosive Environments". They melt or become brittle in these types of environments. The tabs on the end of these caps are not friendly to remove.

Anyone aware of a product that would assist in the implementation of this program?

Thank you in advance for your input....

Jim

I have seen color coded thin metal disks which, fit under the zerk. Most will have the lubricant type embossed on them. Check with your lubricant supplier if they have any thing like that. You could make your own out of thin sheets of colored plastic and a punch set.

We thought about doing that and then revamped the program. We are currently moving toward one grease that will fulfill all of the requirements at our plant.
