Is there any similarity between CLS certification by STLE and MLT by ICML? What about training for these certifications? Equipment lubrication course by lubrigard/CMI and MLT course by Noria, should be the required ones, and is it one more apropriate than the other for each certification?

I know that this doesn't really answer your question but, I took the Noria MLT and MLA courses and flashcards, they prepared me fairly well for both the ICML certificates, My company chose the ICML over the STLE certification, not sure why, it might have something to do with the cost of the exams, STLE is twice the price.

Although Noria does a great job in teaching MLT 1, I would suggest that you do some reading before taking the test. I found that only about 30% of the questions that were on the test were actually talked about either in class or the flashcards. If I would not have read a few books on lubrication prior to taking the class and test, I don't think I would have passed.

I took Norias level 1 ansd 2 clases and passed both ICML exams.
Read everything you can. I'll likely take the STLE next year solely on the basis that I might lerarn something new in doing so. |
