We use Exxon Mobil PolyRex EM on our electric motors and high speed bearing applications with good results. So far I've only dealt with Mobil products. I'm sure there are many manufacturers with Polyurea greases.

Good luck.

Hello,

thx for your answers. I guess I have to explain that at first I would like to get an overview of Poly urea greases. I like to get know the application areas of poly urea greases and the brands (products) which are used in that areas. Hence the answer from "remmious" is exactly that what I need.

Best regards

Just remember there can be some compatibility issues with polyurea and lithium and lithium complex greases. Companies seem to still be riding on the fence with this question and haven't put a definitive answer yet. So we use it strictly on motors and a couple of high speed fan rotor bearing applications. These fan bearing applications are very few and its an area where generally only 1 mechanic works on them. Other bearing applications we use Li-complex greases just to keep cross contamination down.

Just some more personal perspective on the subject.

The polyurea greases is not compatible with any bases, i recomend you the polyurea grease to MOLYKOTE is the G0100EM grease.
You can to use for any aplications to high speed bearing,and the contamination of wather is present.
its very important to wash the bearing before to engrase.

regards.

Hi Eva,
Polyurea thickeners are very good and can replace most grease applications.
The Best manufacturers are USA and Japan,
USA we have experience with and one of the best was Witco, now Exon Mobil, Remmious's recommendation, we agree,
Schafer (Spelling??) was taken over by Shell so their polyurea greases will also be OK,

Polyurea's are non soap greases and are usually incompatible unless the application can be flushed greases until > 80% of the old grease has been replaced with new and most applications will behave but with any change over like this care and attention is important.
We like the polyurea thickener as it has thixiotrophic characteristics where the grease can shed base oil under pressure and provide additional lubricity and then reabsorb the base oil once the pressure reduces,
soap greases do no have this ability and once sheared and separated will not recombine.

Dear All,

first of all thx for your answeres.

Pls can you tell me something about shere stability of PU-Greases. I've found on internet different opinions. On some pages I found the information that some PU-Greases are shere stable and some not. Do you know the reason for it?

best wishes

Dear Friends,
Firstly, I would like to point out that new generation polyurea greases are compatible with Li Base greases.

Secondly, Polyurea greases can be used in follwing condition;
1) Better oxidation resistance
2) High Operating temperature upto 180-200 deg.C
3) Application under ingress of agressive chemical media
4) Application exposed to water
5) Extremely suitable for centralized lubrication system exposed to high temperature, as it leaves very low residue in tubes and hence avoid tube choking problem.

Note;
1) Should be avoided in cylinderical and taper roller bearing or bearing having low clearances as due to its tacky nature it may not reach entire surface contact of friction partner.
2) Carl Bechem Lubricants, Germany and Kyodo Yushi, Japan manufacture world class Polyurea grease.
