Hi
SOlubility of Sodium Nitrite in base oil is low and therefore its presence in finished grease is inevitable. It creates noise in the bearings as it acts as a contaminant.
It is a fact that solid particles even smaller than the mean film thickness produce wear if they are hard.
In short it is detrimental to bearing life.

hope this information would satisfy you.

cheers.
