Has anyone had any experience with the oil filled polymer lubrication in bearings in lieu of grease ? I read an intresting article on this type of lubrication and think it would be a good application on a few machines we have.

We have used these bearings in several 'dirty' applications and they have worked very well. They have been very cost effective for us. The extended life and improved equipment reliability more than compensate for the higher cost. These bearings do have speed limitations. The style we have used is only good for applications of 200 rmp or less.

The paper I was referring to was a 1997 presentation to the Society of Manufacturing Engineers symposium in Greensboro, NC by PhyMet, Inc of Springboro, Ohio.
