Sorry if i post on wrong forum...

I would like to know if anybody know about additives types in an additive package.

I called Infineum and asked about additive types in their package but they are only able to tell me that it contain antiwear, detergent and dispersant. What about anti-oxidant, anti-foam, anti-corrosion, pour point depressant, etc?

They did give us information on some trace elements in their package, is it indicative of the additive types in the package?

HOw would I know what type of additives are contained in the package? I mean, is there a way to know?

Anybody? Thanks.

I guess u r asking about package for motor oil.

Normally, this kind of package cotains dispersant, detergent, antiwear additive, antioxidant. Corrosion inhibition is provided by detergent which has inherent anticorrosion property. antifoam and ppd are normally added in the blending of motor oil

Agree with Luber, but what type of lubricant do you want to know the package?

Just send it to a lubricant laboratory for spectro analysis and the components will determine the type of additives the package contents. Any book about lubricants will have the information on which elements correspond to the specific additives in the package.
