Does anyone know what a crossover for Conoco Graphlube 30 would be? Could we possibly use Anti-sieze in it's place?

Whats the application?

The application is the bottom bearing on a cooling tower pump. The pump has 2 bearings, the upper one lubricated with water, as it sits in the stream, but the bottom one sits just below the input, so it has no water to lubricate it. It calls for Conoco Graphlube 30 to be packed along the shaft so a little bit of it can be pushed into the bearing.

Dear Mark,
Seems to be a graphited grease possibly NLGI 3. Anti seize seems a good bet. Hussam Adeni |

Try Lubrication Engineers 3752 Almagard or 1275 Almaplex grease. Both are excellent greases and will do a FANTASTIC job for you on cooling towers. E-mail me at MikeTheGreaseMan@aol.com if you'd like.

No, do not use an anti-seize, these are two different things. You can use a compounded open gear grease NLGI 2 or 3. ANti seize has too high content of solids and will dry out too soon.
