You could easily test it. Put a piece of clean sheet metal in a 5 gallon bucket and then place a cup with chain oil in it into the bucket. Now take your test paint in your paint gun and paint the piece of sheet metal. Cover the bucket with a towel and come back a couple of day's later and see if you have any orange peel or other problems.

I'm curious, have you been having problems that you think are due to chain oil?

Micbial, Many automotive comapnies (i am aware of few in India) do require a Paint compatibility test done before using a chain oil in their paint shop overhead conveyor. They call it Crater test (i am not very sure of the spellings). I understand Benz also has does same test.

As per my understanding every OEM has their own standard procedure for testing paint compatibility. Some mix oil (few drops) & Paint and then use this mixture to paint vehicles, then see the quality of finish.
Others paint over surface contaminated with oil.
U need to chk with specific OE for further details.I am not aware of any lab which does this test. Hope this clarifies ur query.
