I'm trying to evaluate environmental friendly hydraulic fluids to be used on mobile equipment-in a lot of cases hydrostatic drives-which is the best test as far as being "degradable". Two of the biggest players Eco-safe and Terresolve use different test-can someone enlighten me somewhat. thanks, Maytag

You can take their data as a Gospel (what they hope for), or you can establish the test methods that you trust (ASTM and/or EPA) and your criteria for the results. Then you can contact them and ask if they have results of these analyses available, and the data showing their lubricants meet or exceed the criteria.
