Im new here so hoping my entrance will give me some good inputs.

Does anyone using or have some idea 'bout ultrasonic contact sensors. I had read some notions saying low db is a good bearing but really without any baseline and comparison how can I use this technology on bearing judgment? how much db shall i be alarmed then? Is the value applicable to variety of parameters? I mean I didnt have the benefit of field testing in long time this technology.
