We currently store new oil in 55 gallon barrels which are used to dispense oil into smaller containers that are used to add oil to various machines. Many articles recommend that the new oil be filtered prior to use. Does anyone know of a filtering element that can be added directly to a barrel pump?

Thanks

Check your pumps GPM and maximum pressure. Then define what micron rating you need. I would recommend a filter with built inn by-pass valve.

We installed spin-on filters (by Ezy-Flow) to our barrel pumps. We used the filter that requires 3/4" piping and has a 15 psi built in by-pass valve with a 10 micron filter. You can install DP gages to know when to change the filter or just change it on a scheduled bases. Since we use these filters in plant, it was not an added stock item.
