Has anyone had any experience using a Gates Megaclean type foam projectile launcher to clean out tubes and lines after a catastrphic pump failure where debris was sent throughout an entire moblie hydraulic system? Pumps, valves, cylinders, drive motors etc. brass and steel everywhere.

How did you find using such a system? were results worth the effort?

THank you

I have not used this product for hydraulic power systems as described.

I do have new hoses and fittings cleaned before it is put into service.

Similar system I have used for watermains after installation/rework and the amount of pipe cuttings, and dirt or silt is pretty much significant. In my application, a series of numbered polyureathane plugs 18" dia is forced through the 16" pipe in sequence and each inspected for cleanliness after. For hydraulic system, I would assume the same would be done until there are no grit and shavings visible on the plugs.
