Dear All,

Kindly share any experience on ceramic base lubricants.
any concern on;
- compatibility issue with branded lubes?
- changing in heat transfer ability in heat exchangers?
- lubrications performance vs machine lifetime?

Thanks in advance

Hi Andy

Can you please give us all some more data application and what you were hoping to achieve from the use of "Ceramic Based Lubes" ?
Reason is I just googled the term and the first couple of hits made the hair on the back of my neck stand up from the statements made about the products,

Regards Rob S

I think that the term used ("Ceramic Based Lubricants") is somewhat missleading, because the base is certainly a lubricant and ceramic-based additives are just what the word says - additives. A better term would be "Ceramic-based Additives Enhanced (or Additized) Lubricants" or "Lubricants with Ceramic-based Additives". However, as rttech said, it would be helpful to shine some light on the application itself.

Few week ago someone contact me on this issue.
Seams a metal conditioner (additive) products to reduce the friction between moving parts.

I am trying to get more info in real applications not just from the seller.

Hi Andy

As John said take care as we have no examples in the message board world which covers a large area of applications.
Examine the reason you wish to experiment and start on your lawn mower or some other non critical application,
ceramics are very hard,
we run a WDA lab and spend our life instructing our customers to remove very hard particles from their machines so I would be reluctant to add to anything we monitor.
