Hi my name is Hugo Suarez and I`m doing testing for improve the cleaning of my new oils.. but I have a questions?.. why oils SAE 10W have a ISO 17/16/09 or ISO 17/15/10 and SAE 15W40 Have ISO 21/20/19.. if all the products are prepared in the same way... is for aditives? or is for the lubricants base? is dirty the SAE 15W40 Oil? or is for aditives??? and which is degree ISO recommended for a SAE 15W40?
is recommendable to filter the oil or would be losing properties in the oil, at the moment we have extended the period of oil change in equipment caterpillar(trucks 785C)of 250 hours to 550 hours and extending the interval of change of the motor of 16000 hours to 24000 hours monitorinf the oil with tests like analysis infrared, atomic emission for metal wearing down, Viscosities, TBN, Test of dispersion...
Thanks for their aid and I would like to interchange experiences in this subject of oil cleaning. My personal mail is hsuarez@barrick.com or husuva@hotmail.com

Dear Hugo,
I appreciate your concern for extending the life of your engine oil. If you install a small centrifuge for removing the solid contaminants ,the oil life can be extended to 600 hours, if Klarol Oil Purifier is installed on your engine , the life can be easily extended to 2000 hours and beyond. For details you may email to me at pa_ranchi@yahoo.com
Large centrifuges which remove solid contaminants as well as water from the oil can extend the oil life many times more, but they are costly and are not economically viable for small engines having 30 litres or a few hundred litres oil. Centrifuses are good for large engines like those for marine operations having thousands of litres of oil. Klarol is good for all the engines ,even having 10 litres of oil because of its various models

The fact to increase the period of oil change motor oil coverall is to still increase the availability but if it is greater equipment of mining of 150 tons which the cost by shutdown are high, but this depends on many factors such as soot, oxidation, TBN, metal wearing down, viscosity, make level of cleaning among others. At the moment I have located in the final pistols of oil distribution filters donaldson of 10 microns with which greater change in the cleaning levels is not observed.
It is wanted to offer the best quality of oil and the possible clean oil but but being conserved all the properties and is to where my question goes that as much would have to filter the oil without this loses important properties. I am making tests of cleaning levels from the analysis of the basic ones to the final oil to determine the origin of these particles that reports the equipment particle accountant PLC3000.
Until the moment I have obtained good results with the oil shell Donax SAE60 with which the life of final controls of Caterpillar trucks has extended 785C of 150 tons from 16000 hours to 32000 hours with a period of change of to 4500 hours of use of the oil, by means of a constant monitoreo of the state of the oil, but the question is that as much but I can extend the life of these components having a clean oil but?
