Moisture contamination in Vegetable Hydraulic Oil

Hi All,

I have been interacting with a customer who uses vegetable base hydraulic oil due to their corporate environmental policy.
The problem is that the moisture content in the oil is high. Even after removing the moisture by using a vacuum dehydrator the moisture content in the oil increase in a couple of days to about 800 - 1200 ppm. We are trying to identify the root cause and wanted to eliminate the possibility of it being a characteristic of vegetable base hydraulic oil.

Has anybody had similar problems with Vegetable base hydraulic oils ?

What are the possible causes of the moisture increase other than the usual culprits ?
a.) Heat Exchanger failure
b.) Moisture content in oil used for topping up
