If you want to delay oil changes should you look at the kind of oil. There is a company called Synlube that advocates no oil changes for automobiles.

I don't think they say anything about filters. Their web site makes the claim that you don't have to change there oil. I have no idea if anything they claim is true, but their web site appears to be a real business.

So if you combine a filter that leads to extended oil change intervals with an oil that does not need to be changed you might have a solution.
