Hi John. Would the amount of chatter marks equal the roll speed times the amount of rolling elements in heavy contact in the drive universals joints when loaded? Just to follow drive shaft "whipping".
The grease in the universal should show wear debris from compression and acceleration if that were the cause, you could purge 3-4 grams of grease out of the universals joints and complete a wear debris analysis on the grease sample to screen that out of the root cause process,
