Advantages for Bentone Grease

It has no dropping point. It is capable of extreme temps like in steel manufacturing. It easily handles synthetic base stocks, so bleeding is not much of an issue. Cost is about mid-range.

Disadvantage: Incompatible with everything, flush and flush again.

Things to watch for. The thickener will outlast the oil, important to maintain regular intervals. Bentone is a clay, so handles water about as well as lithium, just grease often if exposed to regular moisture.

Yes, with extra care. If replacing a Lithium grease, you would probably be better off with an Aluminum Complex grease depending on the application. What is the reason you would want to consider a Bentone grease over Aluminum Complex. A few applications for Bentone include steel mills and ovens.

There're not many Aluminum Complex grease except the food grade grease. And I normally select Bentone grease over Aluminum Complex if I use it in oven bearings. Because the current product I use is Moly-Bentone grease.

Bentone thickener is outdated. Use a modern grease based on Ca Sulfonate that will outlast the bentone and other traditional grease technologies. Write me for product information CSHD@motorenew.com
