I'm looking for a modern replacement for Teresso 46 that is not any more in production. The application is a high speed gearbox. described as a steam turbine oil.

in ISO 6743, Turbine oil with geared application was clasified as TSE (For steam) and TGE (for gas turbine)

I spoke to AMSOIL tech support and they recommend their synthetic RCI hydraulic fluid for your application. It is an R&O AW gear and bearing oil.

Terreso 46 is available from Imperial Oil Canada.Contact Esso or any major oil company in your area for a direct replacement.
Teresso around here is Group I. It is one of the simplest and cheapest products on the market.
I'd look for a group II product, and there are lots of them.
If it is a gear box, it may have been recommended since it had no sulfur/phos EP and the box has bronze gears. You might consider a Borate gear oil and reduce the friction and energy. Your oil supplier should be able to recommend specific products.

Who have you been buying the Teresso 46 from, a distributor or jobber? They should be able to tell you which Mobil product has been designated as a drop-in replacement.
