Cavitation as it normally refers to pumps is the implosion of a vapor bubble that creates a shock or pressure wave that can remove metal from the pump impellor. Causes can be proplems with the impellor designs, flows, NPSH and the like. Micro diesilng is the same a 'normal' dieslling and is just the heat created when a vapor bubble is compressed. It can be entrained air in the fluid because of high flow rates, improper reservoir designs, long air release times for the fluid, etc or it can be from vapor or air bubbles that can form because of subatmospheric suction conditions such as a clogged or undersized suction strainer or line or cold fluid, etc.
