Centrifugal ammonia compressor oil compatibility

Currently, our ammonia centrifugal compressor is using Shell Calvus 32 oil for lubrication & sealing but It was informed by oil supplier that the oil will be out of production.

We are in the midst of searching for a compatible oil to replace the Shell Calvus 32 oil & we don't know what type of oil is best for ammnoia services compressor.

The compressor is runing at 11,000 rpm & it is using trap bushing seal for sealing.

Check with Shell directly for a replacement. If you know the blend of this oil you could use almost any oil that is compatible and meets your spec. Don't take a vendor's word on compatibility always test first. They sell oil, you own the machines.....
