Can anyone direct me to some particle standards for York centrifical chillers. We recently received our oil analysis report which indicated a high particle count (non-metal) but the chiller vendor is claiming that these numbers are not a big deal. I strongly disagree but I am looking for data that to help support my position when we review this information to management. Particle count was 23/21/20.

Did the laboratory follow up on the high particle count with a ISO Cleanliness code via filter patch test and view under a microscope to determine the cause of the high counts? Not sure what other tests were done on the sample as well. Have other samples been taken since the high count to determine if sampling issues may have caused the high counts?
We have taken another oil sample to verify the first analysis results but we have not received them back from the lab yet. I am not aware of the follow-up tests the lab performed to determine the "cause" of the high particle counts. I have never heard of a lab using testing to determine the "cause". I was under the impression that if the particles were high and they were not metal, then they are must be dirt.
