Hi Frank, yes I think J&M Products could be worth a call, they have products aimed at the same applications, we tested J&M Specialised Products Polyfluoro Lubricants 5 or 6 years ago and two of their greases exceeded all other test greases including kluber's capabilities for heat resistance.
They would have a copy of the test.Their email: .

Hi Rob
The grease is more a sealant than anything else to prevent the low pressure gas from scaping so it has to be adhesive and cohesive and possess polymers, low oil bleed properties and good compatibility with Coke Ovens and Blast Furnace gas. The application is ambient temperature so Joe's product is an overkill not to mention price as it takes 9*180Kg drums to fill the lines.

I'll find out, I'm also looking at some test that will measure grease thickness, The grease for this application has to prevent the gas from leaking, so If I could find such a test I could measure a few types. I was thinking of a dob of grease between two glass plates and a light weight with dial indicator on top to measure the thickness after the grease has spread to the minimum thickness, what do you think?
